Snapshots of Winter

I love how seasons change the colors of everything -- winter makes everything so blue.

Going away to other places is so fun -- and I'm quite used to moving after living all across the country. But it also makes me appreciate coming home. The Puget Sound is an incredible place to live. The people are quirky, and best of all, they don't let a little bit of precipitation get them down. I will really miss that.

Last night, Robbie and I were taking Bernie the beagle for a late night walk, and as we were crossing from one side of the street to the other, Robbie stopped me, turned my body to the water and said softly, "I just want you to know...it doesn't get any better than this." He said this as he pointed out to Bellingham Bay, the moon nesting over the water. He said, "We live in one of the most beautiful places in the world." I told him I would really miss it here, if we go to Colorado, and he promised we'd make it back.
