a night at 15th & little raven

hi friends! i hope you all had a relaxing & happy weekend! to be honest, mine was anything but. i had a couple of days when one bad thing just kept happening after another. (we all know how that goes, right?) but i did what i always do when i catch myself in a self-pitying mood: i wrote a happy list, a gratitude list, and sent out some snail mail. and i've resolved to just have a really great week.

and the weekend ended on a good note -- which is all that matters. last night, our little family of four took it easy and went to a park downtown. we sat around with books, drank orange soda, & daydreamed about art projects to do, things to do this fall, our future home, and the cities and states we'd like to visit...and also live in someday. daydreaming is such a good fix-all...and orange soda doesn't hurt either. ; )

  4. Aw, I definitely need to try your methods when I'm down in the dumps. I miss snail mail and I know writing/sending it would make me feel better.

  5. My husband knows daydreaming always helps me when I'm disappointed or sad. He usually asks, where I would like to go on vacation or baby names hahah!

  6. I love Johnathan Safran Foer. I recently read that book and also Everything is Illuminated. Another good book to check out if you haven't already is Life of Pi.

P.S. I love beagles! I have a beagle and beagle mix pup at home. So sweet.

Hope your week turns out great. Just stick to the happy list... :)

  9. I love this Bridgette. It's so true that when you're having a bad day, you just need to write a gratitude list. It's funny that I just read this because about 10 minutes ago...I had to make a little list myself! Anyways...I always love it when you post pictures of you and Robbie because you two just look so in love and happy! I love the colors in the photos too. :)

  12. aw that's not good! I've been having quite a few days like that where nothing seems to go right and I seem to be running around in circles. Glad you had a good weekend to make up for it though! That book looks really good, would you recommend it? I'm still needing to email you! It's on my list of stuff to do tomorrow, promise :)

Ps. have a look at the little treasure I found at the weekend! I know you don't sew but I think you'll agree that she's a beauty!

  15. You are so much fun, I wish you guys would put Roanoke on your list of places to live because I hate that we can't be neighbors and go on walks and park adventures together. You have to at least visit the East Coast soon! I'm glad your week ended well and I'm crossing my fingers that this week is the best EVER. Hugs.

  20. Aww your positivity is really inspiring! Sometimes its nice to have a blog because, even if you want to complain and let your readers know you are having a not-so-hot day, I feel like you are more likely to put a positive spin on it somehow.

Oh I saw your costco date and was SO jealous, their pizza is the best, i can't even move after i eat it! Also, 100% yes to a blogger fall meetup!
