the history of objects / red boots, you rock

mukilteo8
i do think these new red boots & i are going to be good friends -- the type who go on many adventures together. when i opened them on christmas, robbie's parents commented, saying they remember their own parents wearing hunter boots years ago to milk cows on the farms where they grew up. i think that sort of heritage and history and narrative that gets carried through objects is so interesting. it's something robbie & i have talked a lot about too, especially in regards to clothing-- having signature pieces to pass through generations. i'll need to take excellent care of these babies so i can pass them on to my own daughter someday -- if she has teeny feet like me anyway.

  1. Eeep! They're perfect. I asked for the classic green and I'm crossing my fingers my Dad has them waiting under the tree for me when I visit tomorrow. The red were my other favorites. Let's wear them when we meet in 2013. It's gonna happen friend...I know it.

  2. @bekuh: aw! hope you get 'em! the tall green ones are on my eternal wardrobe bucket list. robbie tried to find them at the rack but they were out of my size in all of colorado and washington. darn! but i like the little red ones. i don't know anyone who has them, so my toes feel pretty special tucked inside 'em. : )

  9. Yes!
I have yellow hunter that I adore and intend on making an heirloom too. I whine too much about my mom not saving some of her awesome clothes/shoes to forgot about my future children!
