happy coffee / denver

a few faceless photos from an early morning date at happy coffee, a favorite spot in this city o' mine. it's one of those good shops where there are lots of two-seater tables filled with friends in quiet conversation under dim lighting, where a 12 ounce mocha somehow lasts for hours, where the baristas are friendly. it reminds me of avelino coffee in bellingham, or various spots in seattle where i'd get lost writing for hours. creative writing is being worked back into my schedule -- and i have a feeling this little corner will be frequented, that my body will commit to memory the way the door sounds upon opening, the shapes of its chairs, the tables' grain.

  4. I've been working on the creative writing side of things lately too. It's something that used to be so important to me, but kind of got lost in the business of life. this place looks perfect to spend a couple hours lost with a pencil in hand.

  7. I love cute coffee shops like this... I am still to find one convenient to me in my city: all of the ones nearby are chains.
