yesterday, my pal lo & i spent a relaxed afternoon together. we got hot chocolate, visited the tattered cover, ate pie, and wandered into goodwill on broadway, which, i swear, is a bonafide goldmine of used books. i mean, you see those gems?

my to kill a mockingbird was lost ages ago & i'm so happy to have a new copy. that book was one of the ones i really grew up on -- and the movie. i had the hugest crush on atticus finch, you guys. he had such character. and i loved his glasses.

salinger's franny and zooey & any from c.s. lewis' scifi trilogy have been on my to-thrift list forever. of course, anything roald dahl touches is always welcome in this house, and have i mentioned i love the best american essays series? yeah, it's super geeky. oh, and new tolkien copies for robbie --yellow-paged paperbacks that smell perfect.
