denver art museum: roof sculpture garden

should you find yourself in denver -- or more specifically denver's art museum -- it would be an absolute crime to miss this: the roof sculpture garden. this bit of the museum has such a democratizing, pedestrian force about it: you're essentially walking -- sometimes alone, or in pairs, or in batches -- amongst an art form all its own, and it's so interesting to see the way folks interact with it. i love the way the angles of the roof's viewing points cut off or aggrandize different parts of the skyline -- my favorite thing to think about is how, even as the structure stays the same, its perspective will constantly be shifting as the skyline enveloping it does.

robbie & i marveled at the way one particular wall seemed more accessible than the others -- more open, perhaps easier to catch a glimpse of the full skyline from. but as we walked closer to the wall, it appeared to get taller and taller, cropping our view the nearer we got.
