garden of the gods // film snaps

i think i want to retire my digital cameras and just shoot film FOREVER.
ok, actually, that's a lie. i love my d700 more than life. kidding. kind of.

but really, it was so fun to get these photos back -- robbie and i looked at them one-by-one, examining every inch. i love the colors, the good grain. it's a different shooting experience altogether. and then -- oh, then -- there's that scrumptious rolling film sound. (p.s. here are the digital snapshots we took that day too.) we didn't plan on spending too much of the day hiking (i mean, the kid wore a tweed blazer & pocket square), but it was great to drop in & see the sights before heading around the corner to manitou springs for lunch.

i'm so happy we get to spend part of our life in beautiful colorado. so much to see, to do, to snatch up forever with the click of a button or two.

  1. These photos are gorgeous. Everything about them. So happy to learn they are film! Makes me want to whip out my film camera and experiment.

  3. these are so sweet! i love them all :) such a cool place!

  4. The photos are beautiful and full of colour! I really like them. :) Where they all shot on your Canon? How did you manage to get the one with the both of you in it to be in focus (if the lens is manual). I have tried it countless of times with blurry results. :( Keep up with the film! -Though I highly doubt you need the encouragement to do so. ;) - You give us little amateurs hope of for the little film dabbling we get up to. :)

  5. man you are hitting all the great spots in Colorado. Jordan has been talking about going to Garden of the Gods for a couple weeks now. We will have to head down there. :)

  6. The photos are lovely! I have a few film cameras but no film and no extra money!

  7. These are so lovely! I absolutely love film, but only shoot in black & white and develop and print them myself. I should play around with some color rolls and just have them developed for me. Thanks for the inspiration!

You guys are too cute, by the way.
