my sweet goosebear

my sweet goosebear is in the hospital for the next week or two for a little routine cystic fibrosis schtuff. don't worry, he's a-ok -- such a trooper.
this sweetheart o' mine is spending the next week or two in the hospital. robbie has cystic fibrosis, so he's going in for some routine CF shtuff. please don't worry yourselves -- he's hunky dory -- just needs to give his lungs a little extra love right now. i mean….i love those lungs a lot, lot, lot, but it turns out they need a lil' help from modern medicine now & then. ; )

i'm already missing him like mad. thankfully i get to visit him frequently, but i do miss falling asleep & waking up with my best friend. at lunch time we had a little rendezvous in the food court…the coffee stand serves up a mean horchata latte (i know, right?), and tonight we snuggled into that teeny tiny hospital bed & caught up on glee & mad men. but, boy, i can't wait for the sink to be full of his cereal bowls, and to find his shoes in the most nonsensical places around our apartment again soon.

you, my goosebear, are the bravest -- the bravest of them all. i miss you, goosebear. but most of all, i love you.

  3. Oh, happy thoughts to you two! It's hard to be apart for that long, good thing you have puppies!

I say it's an opportunity to get more creative with dates! :)

  4. it's hard to fall asleep when they're not there, isn't it? i hate it - the bed's always too big, not the right temperature, the dogs never lay the right way. i hope robbie comes home soon.

  5. So, so sweet. I hate that he has to go through all of this, but so glad you have each other. Your optimism is inspiring.

  7. I've followed your blog for a while now and somehow missed that your husband has CF. My sister-in-law has it and having watched both her and her husband go through some tough times over the past few years I really wanted to say how brave you must be too to be such a source of support for him. I think it's equally tough on the people closest to those with CF as it on the person with it - albeit in completely different ways. But I'm glad to see ye're still rocking the date nights and getting on with things :) Hope he gets well soon x
