this little spring tree

this little wooden thing -- with the branches & blossoms -- is just a couple blocks away from my place. it's a small patch of life amongst the brick and concrete -- and its flowers almost look edible right? i want to rub my face in them. and i might have if the parking lot manager a few feet away hadn't given me the stink eye as i fumbled around the tree taking snaps of it. but such is life. i know where it lives, so i can go back any time for a little satisfactory face-on-tree action. i'll at least stick my nose in them. promise.

i don't think i've ever been happier at spring's homecoming. this winter's been long. and you know what i'm sick of? black tights every day. i want to take all my black tights and piece them into a makeshift effigy and watch them burn. i know that's touching on a hint of melodrama…but one grows tired of the monotony of black tights -- of pulling them up when they ride down, of picking dog fur off them, too. i went tightless the other day and got a tiny tan line -- did i dance when i got home? of course i did.

  3. i like the layers of bricks, the different colours, the cement wall. and lately, my husband has this new habit of stink eyeball-ing me until i laugh and then saying, 'do you SMELL that?'
