a warm-in-your-belly kinda friendship

on our most recent coffee/thrifting/photoshoot date, it was warm enough to order our coffee iced. we wandered about in the alleys of a little neighborhood, waiting to see if we'd have to duck indoors if an afternoon thunderstorm rolled in. we talked about life, about love, and i felt warm in my belly when we left. friendship does that, no? it warms you up from your belly to your fingertips.

& my favorite quote about friendship from c.s. lewis:
friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: what! you too? i thought i was the only one.

  4. I guess I think about friendship the way Dr Seuss summed up love: "We're all a little weird and life is a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them in mutual weirdness and call it love."

  6. "to thine own self be true"-- funny how being true to ourselves is what makes us able to be our true selves to others and to let them be their true selves too.. such a pretty tatto, such a beautiful thought
