when i'm feeling nervous // audrey & fred

i've read quite the cornucopia of audrey hepburn biographies in my 24 years. she was such a completely beautiful, humble human being, and the more you learn about her, the more amazing she becomes. truly. watching an audrey film (or reading a bit about her life) is one of my go-to pick-me-ups.

one thing i read about audrey that struck me: when she found out she was going to be dancing with fred astaire in funny face, she was so nervous -- to the point that she could hardly speak. it's a small thing, but sometimes when i'm feeling anxious about something, i remind myself of that. it helps me to remember how fallible & fragile we all are -- and, how all too often, you'd never even know it from where you're watching.

  1. I've read a lot of Hepburn biographies as well. I think it's impossible not to love her and look up to her.

  2. I think this is great! You're right, sometimes the greatest anxiety reducer is to realize we aren't alone, and we are all in this together--past and present. Thanks for this :)

  6. Audrey was such a beautiful inspiring woman. What a good little reminder for when I am feeling anxious. Now I feel like watching Breakfast At Tiffany's!
