a little blue house & its yellow flowers that were begging to be photographed

just a few snaps of a house i stumbled upon -- & its front yard flowers too.

it was just so pretty, sitting there on the corner of the street, begging to be photographed. and so i obliged. i love preserving lovely little pieces of the world with the help of my camera. have you ever been a mere passerby to a thing, or a scene…and have the uncanny feeling it'll nonetheless stick with you forever? i get it all the time. i think it's a good sign for the world that we can pass by someone's flower bush & feel so drawn in. there doesn't need to be a reason why -- and then, sometimes things become elucidated later -- we just need to step back (and take a snap if you please) and admire this place we all share. there's a lot of good in it.

  1. It's so nice to know others exist in the world who fall in love with countless little things and moments in life... every single day! It's tiring sometimes but it's so worth it. Must be an INFJ thing ;-)

  5. Oh, I just love this. These photos are lovely, as is the sentiment behind them. I get this feeling a lot as well. Although, I am totally guilty of not having my camera with me often enough. My DSLR is just so heavy ya know? Although we are considering purchasing a FUJI X100...which would be so much easier to tote around. Just this afternoon I was wishing terribly that I had my camera....I resolve, with this darling post as mu inspiration, to carry my camera more often to preserve lovely object and moments in my everyday life.

  9. @erin: thank you! i use adobe programs -- lightroom & photoshop. i run 'em through with a combination of my own presets & vsco presets. to get this specific look, i especially amped up the grain, and created some lens flares in photoshop. hope that helps!
