little lady blue
lately, around these parts, robbie and i have been cultivating a living space that feels more us -- which sounds like a piece of cake. but between moving & being on a college kid budget, some things have slipped through the cracks. slowly, we have been culling what we don't love, and bringing into these four walls only what is necessary or what inspires us. music -- listening to it, being a choir nerd -- was one of the most important things to me in high school and college. nowadays, i don't really sing or play instruments, and don't have music playing as much as i'd like. and i think that's so important to making a house (or apartment) a home.
so, this weekend we finally went out and brought home this little blue lady. investing in a new record player has been on our to-do list for years since mine broke, but we kept putting it off. we love her already -- especially in a day & age where our devices are so multifaceted, it's nice to have something so wonderfully unembellished. we're sort of kicking ourselves for not doing it sooner.
she plays music. that's it. and we like that very, very much.

That is an amazing little turntable. I have an ancient one that just keeps on spinning, and I agree -- the simplicity of it is really refreshing sometimes. Play a few tracks, flip the record. Flip again. And nice choice of tunes, by the way; it's one of my standbys!

Mmmmm, there's nothing quite like that sort of fuzzy yet perfectly simple tone of a good record being played. And yours is so cute! Always a plus.

I am so happy for you. I always have to have music playing. Love the color of your turntable also. To think, we got rid of ours when we lived in Littleton.

ReplyDeleteI always wanted to get a portable one, but unfortunately my bf gave me a cheapest, classical black one. Disappointment :(
ReplyDeleteHappy for you girl.
what a beauty of a record player, the colour is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI need to do the same-my little apartment seems to be full of things that don't really "fit" with me. I'm slowly gathering things that do, but on a small budget it definitely takes time. I have this same turntable in Green and I love it SO much :)
ReplyDeleteAhh its so pretty, definitely a worthwhile investment! My Rob has quite the music set up with record players and mixers etc., so I get my own personal DJ whenever I am over! :)
ReplyDeleteHope you're having an amazing day!

ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful record player. I have a wooden one and I am really looking for a way to show it off better in the room. Records are all so lovely, they need to be noticed.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a beautifull record player!
ReplyDeleteAnd that is the most perfect record ever. I have For emma, forever ago. But I hope to add this one to my collection one day!
