so, i think technically we had a tiny snow fall in october. i was out of town. so i'm calling it -- calling this -- the first snow of the season in denver. i've always thought the entrance of winter was such a funny thing. as a kid, i could NOT wrap my head around the concept…on the one hand, seasons change so gradually, but winter to me was another thing. no matter how cold it might have been on days here & there, one day it just happens. there's a snow dump, or it's just unusually, unexpectedly, indescribably wintry, and there you have it. then it takes over, and sets in, and swallows you up, and that is winter. and today, it arrived. winter came like morning -- still and soft, unbitter and biased, and our world was flooded with the quiet.
…speaking of flooding, our apartment did last night. at 1 am. from the apartment above us. and so we were up...maybe all night. but such is life. also: robert's smile in that last photo was totally candid & genuine, and i love how much he loves the snow, even when it means more work for him. also, i want chinese food. specifically sesame tofu. and a biiiiig sweater.
