meanwhile in mckinney

we have been thoroughly enjoying our time here in mckinney, texas, visiting robbie's sister. it's been a little foggy, a little rainy -- and we've been loving the coziness of it. rainy drives, and rainy walks, and rainy days inside eating homemade donuts. by the way, that last part -- that eating homemade donuts part -- is about to happen right now. it's a darn good way to live on a thursday morning in foggy texas.

  5. How do you get that lovely, grainy feel to your photos? Is it your camera? Or the light? Or some editing you do? xxx

    1. hi miriam! it's really all a combination of the camera, lens, the lighting, and a lovely little thing called lightroom (or sometimes photoshop). : ) i can't recommend the VSCO presets enough. if you like vintagey, filmy, grainy, moody feeling photos…it's for you. they're the perfect amount of mood without being cheesy. if in doubt, i say always tone down the highlights & up the grain. hope that helps a little bit. : )

  6. Ohh, what a cozy little town. My Aunt lives near Houston, so I love a good old-fashioned, Texan town ;) Enjoy your donuts!!
