regarding the fact that our christmas tree is still up, and other things

lately, free moments have been spent at the kitchen table -- usually very early in the morning or very late at night -- piecing together floral crowns & whipping up valentines. it's a good way to live, bombarding your dining table with flowers & hearts. i highly recommend.

i also recommend leaving your christmas tree up as long through the cold, harsh winter as possible. mine's still up, standing & stretching her limbs in the corner of the apartment, still lit & all gussied up. in fact, i may have written out a certain contract stipulating that i could leave her up as long as i wished…and may have woken robbie from a nap to sign it in his somnolent (read:cooperative) state. so yes, i actually have an official document relinquishing all decisions & rights regarding the christmas tree to yours truly. and let me just say, it is a beautiful thing. i may have to frame it.

and speaking of beautiful things…let me just express how much i truly love bri, who helped me spiffy up this here blog space. she's a straight-up wizard, i tell you.

  3. There's no way flowers and hearts all of the time could ever be a bad thing. Perhaps you could make it a seasonal tree and leave it up all year. Nothing like a tree covered in hearts and flowers! ;)

    Cheers,
    Kate

    1. oh, thanks, nina! i've been working on buckling down and starting an etsy…for years. since 2011 to be exact. how embarrassing! but yes, in the mean time, i've been taking custom orders. shoot me an email if you're interested, and i can make one to-order with whatever colors you want, etc. xo!

  8. my tree was up until last night! i always like to keep it up until my birthday (last weekend) but this year it lingered bc it was just such a big tree and required more time than usual this year.
ps. i love your new blog header!
