valentines recap

on valentine's day, we make sure we get a photo together. it doesn't happen nearly enough, so we try to stay on a schedule of sorts: christmas, valentine's, anniversaries. and you know, and we try to get the candid ones, but it's nice knowing we've booked a date with our tripod, if all else falls through. bonus: since bernie is afraid of stringed instruments, holding the ukelele kept her at bay while the camera was running. in the first few she's in a rather…unbecoming (i.e., self-grooming) pose in the background.

i, of course, dressed like a veritable valentine's clown, and robbie wore enough red to pass as my assistant holiday clown, two thumbs up, and the back of my hand to my forehead because that man is h-o-t, hot. he gave me flowers, i gave him a card, and we tried a new restaurant instead of going to our default one…which we've maybe gone to for our last…6 dates…or more.

but my very favorite part of the day was when robbie reminded me that we really ought to go bring a valentine -- or a homemade valentine, a favorite coffee, & one of my roses -- to our super sweet & newly single friend while she was at work. and i love him for being that guy, and for reminding me to be that girl. i can always, always count on him to be a good one. he is my favorite valentine, my only & forever valentine.

  3. i can relate about trying to get a picture! when we were dating we would take pictures of everything. every outing, every date. but now being married for 2 years and together for 4....the pictures slowly die out! so sad!

I've always said that a true man isn't one with a ego but one that humbles himself before others. I think your man is just that <3 lucky you girl.

    1. can't beat a good white dress! i got the tights at h&m for i think, 4 or 5 dollars. they have them year round, and this one pair has held up for a couple years for me! an unexpectedly good staple in my closet.
