a day in downtown mckinney, texas

photos from a day in downtown mckinney, texas -- spent antiquing + sipping cream sodas from the fudge shop with my honey, sister-in-law, and her little ones.

if ever you find yourself in the mckinney area of texas, you must spend a day in historic downtown. my favorite spot was the antique company mall -- one of their vendors, booth 58, had the. cutest. things. a healthy mix of vintage + natural objects of curiosity (reasonably priced!) -- old photographs + deer antlers -- and reappopriated + made-to-feel antiquey housewares like burlap banners + hanging mason jar lamps. vintage-antiquey-shabby-chic at its finest. i'd like one of everything from their stock, please.

and let me just say that robbie is a dream to go into such a shop with. he gets so into it, rifling through the treasures. i really lucked out in that department, and boy do i know it!

The chair in the picture is mine!!! I had it on lay-a-way at the Antique Company Mall and just picked it up yesterday. My daughter just happened to see the picture on Pinterest and sent it to me. What a coincidence.
So glad you had the opportunity to visit downtown McKinney. We have been living in the historic district for a year now, and having downtown within walking distance is amazing.
Come back to the ACM soon and visit our space "My Lovely Madness".

    3. I came looking for the picture of the couch (rather, chair) after seeing it on The Lovely Side! My parents have a couch and chair nearly IDENTICAL to that. It has the exact same fabric and with just slightly different woodwork. Do you know anything about the history/style of the piece? It is in such great shape if it is the same age as ours!
