call this one my open invitation to spring
90s revival at its finest, kitty cats. the weather in denver is slowly winding its way between those winter's end, last-stitch effort snow storms & breezy spring days. our coats + boots are still piled high and hung on hooks in the entryway, but springier skirts are making their way out of storage boxes, ready to be worn, to be frolicked in through grassy colorado fields. am i waxing poetic? strongly.
this is one of those ensembles we in the weather-sporadic states call transitional getups. the kind you can easily throw a coat over, or just as easily roll the sleeves up on. a hint of floral pattern to make you believe that yes, spring really is coming. i remember growing up with the strongest springs in virginia -- the cherry blossom trees blooming so fast, it was like watching a time-lapse video on fast-forward. bushes of magenta-tinted flowers in the backyard, and butterflies landing on your hands. my brother caught bugs in his green mesh net by day, and we captured fireflies in mason jars by night. days that lingered, then burst into long, long summers -- this skirt reminds me of those days.
you could call this one my open invitation to spring.
p.s. this is part of the proflowers spring look campaign. peruse their site for more floral inspiration.
