a bit of spring

know this one will be good. Maybe the best. I know it, I know it. There may have been too few flowers spotted on our neighborhood walks -- and today is the first day in too long we've really felt the warmth of the sun -- oh, but spring! The very thought of it! How she smells + feels + looks (and sings and dances!) coming through the windows and across our room, early in the morning.

+ some favorite quotes about spring to put on your fridge:

In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.
- Margaret Atwood

When spring came, even the false spring, there were no problems except where to be happiest.
- Ernest Hemingway

It is spring again. The earth is like a child that knows poems by heart.
- Rainer Maria Rilke

always
it's
Spring and everyone's
in love and flowers pick themselves.
- E.E. Cummings

It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want -- oh you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!
- Mark Twain

  2. this post is so lovely. I love the T.S. Eliot quote, "APRIL is the cruellest month, breeding. Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing. Memory and desire, stirring. Dull roots with spring rain."

I'm so happy it's finally spring.

  3. Oh! These are just so lovely! Spring buds just make for the most beautiful pictures. And your photographic style just makes them even lovelier :)

    1. i agree! where i grew up spring was gorgeous (in washington d.c. -- cherry blossom trees + flowers + birds + bugs abounding)! so it wasn't until i lived in other places that don't experience such a strong resurgence of warmth & life, all of a sudden, that i really appreciated the season. it's such a good one. i hope wherever we end up that the spring is strong there. : )
