Should you find your soulmate in the tender age of teenagehood...chances are, you'll have a lot of meaningful songs -- albums, bands -- that color different seasons of your life together. We're going on nine years of togetherness here, and that's a lot of time -- high school, college, post-college -- to fall in love with a band, or to butt heads over one, to look back with fondness (...or occasional embarrassment) over your musical obsessions. So going shopping for records with Robbie is, at once, a trip to nostalgia-ville...and a sort of time stamp on who we are now, at this very moment. And on this particular trip, Robbie picked up Of Monsters and Men -- one that's been on the list for years -- and sipped on a glass bottle blueberry soda, and let me sneak a kiss in the B section.
Can never get over how you edit your photos, beautiful! (And a little jealous, I could never get them to look that amazing).
ReplyDeleteAww. What a cute little love story that you've known each other for that long and have such. Long history of songs that bring you back to those moments. (Swoon)

Oh, thank you! But I'm sure you could, too. ; ) I remember a couple years ago I had no idea how to get my photos to look how I wanted them to -- in terms of post-processing, anyway. It took a lot of trial and error, experimenting...and asking advice from a couple of admired photographers. You can do it!
Deleteso so sweet.

hey! i´ve enjoyed your blog for a while, never commented but now i just gotta :) the reason being my "little" cousin is the male vocalist in OMAM and as it is of course no small feat for a little band from iceland to make it big, my heart makes little leaps of joy when i´m made aware of how far they've actually come! anyway, this was the random comment of the day. have a nice one!
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing! You must be thrilled over all their success -- they're seriously so talented. We especially love listening to their live recordings and marveling at just how good they are. We've loved that album for years, but only got the record player fairly recently...so, slowly, we've been acquiring our favorites on vinyl. That one definitely had to come home! ; )
DeleteThis is so sweet!! xo
ReplyDeletelove it. i would love to keep some records at home.

They're the best decoration, even when they're not spinnin'! ; )
DeleteOh you just completely inspired me to go record shopping with my love! I don't think we've gone together since we were dating, so it's about time! Lovely shots and sentiments :)
