short-sighted

shorts: UO //  blouse: thrifted (target brand)

Shorts are not an item that make regular rounds in my wardrobe. Maybe one day over the summer I'll throw on a pair, but by the end of the day I'm thinking, nope, no, not ever again, no way, no how. The truth is I feel self-conscious in shorts. I have long legs and a tiny torso, so I always feel like I look...like a teenager -- on my way to adulthood, but still in an awkward growing phase.

So, when I brought these shorts into the dressing room, my expectations were preee-tty low. But the instant I put them on -- and they fit! -- my brain was like, bike rides, ice cream, BIKE RIDES! And the rest is history.

Are you sure that blouse is thrifted? I have the same exact blouse I got from the juniors section at target, I wear it all the time....but I could be wrong!

    2. Oh! But if it's from target....how can it be thrifted? Ha. I have no clue or experience with fashion and thrifting but I thought thrifting meant it's vintage. Never mind!

    3. Thrifted just means you found it at a thrift store. Things can be vintage AND thrifted, but they aren't mutually inclusive. :)

    4. oh, no problem! haha! you should definitely try thrifting -- just for the experience -- if you ever get the chance. basically the way thrift shops work is that people donate their unwanted, gently used goods there -- and then they're resold at really low prices...so you can find some fun, used treasures. often times there will be a mix of vintage things, and things that are more current -- maybe that someone bought and didn't wear much, and decided to donate. so often, i'll find both things from the 70s-90s...and also things from target, urban outfitters, nordstrom, etc. ; ) house wares too!

    5. My eyes are opened! That totally makes sense now....so the word thrifted doesn't necessarily mean vintage. Got it! (Light bulb on). So weird how things have changed, when I was growing up thrifted always meant vintage.....

  8. You look adorable! I have the opposite problem--short legs, long torso--and I always feel like I look stumpy in shorts. I would kill for your legs!
