I've been told -- many a time -- that when it comes to our ladies of Sex and the City...I'm a bit of a Charlotte. It's an accurate assessment. I have a predilection toward the proper and the feminine. Also, I'm extremely sensitive. And I like lace. And polka dots. And small dogs.
But...there's this fiery part inside of me that so wants to be a Carrie. Or is a tiny bit of a Carrie -- I do, after all, like to write (preferably in the rain, in a cafe, or at night, always on a macbook, by a window), and my affection for tutus is well-documented. And, our studio apartment is reminiscent of a Carrie Bradshaw-ian loft in its way, yeah? A sort of sprawling, bohemian, books-stacked-all-about kind of existence. I've a healthy affectation for Carrie-dom, for Carrie-ness -- and here I am making her a noun -- when we all know that Carrie is a verb, of course!
And so, when I received this shirt from Stylelately...it instantly reminded me of this. And I couldn't help but wonder...isn't this just the sort of thing our girl Carrie might lounge in? Paired, of course, with adorable skivvies. A comfy, caffeine-powered night indoors, lounging in bed with a poetry anthology and making a call on the spiral-corded home phone.
