rainy days indoors

skirt: urban outfitters // sweater: thrifted // shoes: target // lipstick: love that red by revlon // banner: BHLDN

We are speedily approaching summertime, and what that means for us Denverites is lots of morning outings -- and quickly being shuffled back indoors by midday thunderstorms. Oh, but fast-falling rain is the song of my soul, so I revel in that glorious shuffle! After one such noontime storm -- that lasted the whole day, to my unparalleled delight! -- I found myself shedding soaked rainboots and a jacket in lieu of this comfy ensemble. Robbie and I had the day off together, and spent it listening to rain sounds, repotting plants, sipping iced coffee, and flipping through books & letting records spin while tidying up a bit. By tidying up I mean moving that globe from corner to corner of our apartment because it looks good everywhere, and it is a travesty that I don't have a clone machine, because I could make do with at least five more of that globe. And there may have been a rain-soaked evening trek to 7-Eleven for cookie ice cream sandwiches, but a lady never eats an inordinate amount of ice cream and tells. Just kidding -- this one does! Ugh. I freakin' love sandwiches.

  1. Target! I swear their clothes and shoes get cuter and cuter all the time! I really like the outfit you out together. Definitely reminds me of the early 60's! xo

    1. Thanks, Kati! It's my favorite. We leave it up reading "I love you" year round, and then switch it to "Cheers," "Give Thanks," etc., for the holidays. It's so great! It's by Rifle Paper Co. -- I added a link above in the post. : )

  10. Adorable! I love the rain too. Hard rain on a tin roof and a window is a drug.
I love your casual and flirty look here.
