cafe girl -- a look with twice

Continuing with the simplified closet theme...over the next couple weeks, I'll show you three ways to style one wrap dress.

TWICE -- an online consignment shop (with high-end brands like Anthropologie, Kate Spade, JCrew, Zara, etc. -- but deeeeeeply discounted) -- is where I snatched up this perfect Banana Republic dress. It's like thrifting. But online. And carefully curated brands you love at a bargain. Heavenly! And kind of addicting.

Next post, I'll show you this dress styled for a holiday party -- but today: simple & sweet! Maybe for the day after Christmas. I call this first look cafe girl -- pair it with a cozy sweater, messy pony, clogs, and red lips for a pared-down look. Perfect for a cafe date.

TWICE has been a huge help transforming my wardrobe. I can't rave about it enough. I've been making all my friends try it out!

You can buy and sell. I sent off my first bag and got paid over $100 for things just sitting around. If you're interested in selling, sign up here. They prepay shipping (send as much as you like!), and will send you an offer (in cash, or 25% extra in credit), photograph your items, and post 'em for sale. So, so easy. And I like knowing my stuff gathering dust might be a special find for someone.

Their customer service is great, too-- if something doesn't fit, no problem! Just send it back as you received it for a refund.

And now...you all NEED to go give Twice a try. And because I love you, I'm going to help you get your first order SUPER discounted (or even free)! Here's what to do:

1. Sign up here for Twice. (You'll automatically get a $10 credit.) (You'll also get an extra $10 the first time you sell!)
2. If you like, you can download the Twice app to your other apple/android devices (you'll get an extra $10 credit for each one you download to, up to three devices -- so now you'll have $10-40 in credit!).
3. Click here to get 50% off your first order.

And -- yes, you can combine all your credits & the 50% off discount!

Follow these steps & place your first order today -- get something in time for the holidays! Feel free to shop from my wish list -- personally selected & obsessed over by yours truly.

  3. Uhm, this site is AMAZING. I have been using Poshmark to sell my clothes, but this site is so much better for shopping! I can't believe how great the deals are. Oh no, you've created a monster... ;p

    1. It's the best thing I've done for myself/home in a while! It's been so fun. And makes dressing (and, actually shopping) far more enjoyable too. Glad to hear it's been useful to some folks!

  5. And how lucrative do you think it is to sell through them? You said you got $100 - for how many items? Do they only take higher end brands, or do they take brands such as Forever 21?

    1. That is a great question.

Here's a list of the brands they accept: https://www.liketwice.com/what-we-buy/
(You can also see an estimate of what they offer for different items through this link. Just type in what you have. Like, an Elevenses dress from Anthro will run about $7-10, or a dress from GAP will be about $4-6.) Great tool!

They do not accept items from Forever21 at this time -- but, they do accept from a range of higher-end shops. So, for instance -- they accept from places like GAP, Nordstrom BP...also from Banana Republic and JCrew...and all the way on up to premium designer brands.

I believe I sent in 18 or 19 items. And it was a real mix-- there were pricier things like designer jeans, Anthropologie, JCrew...but also things from GAP, Levi's, etc.

For me, it was totally worth it! They were things that were just collecting dust, really -- things that were nice...but that I wasn't wearing. And, for me, the convenience was HUGE. I live downtown, so it's much, much easier for me to pile everything in one bag and send it off (free shipping!_ -- rather han sorting & making separate trips, having things rejected some places, accepted at others, etc. And...it's just nice to be unburdened, too! I'm really happy I sold with them -- and I'm actually prepping my second send-in now.

If you're a little hesitant to try it out, maybe start by sending in a small sell package first, just to give it a try?

Sorry this was so long -- I wanted to be thorough. I hope that helps!

    1. Thanks so much! It was totally accidental. I was en route to a top knot, but it fell apart...and I kind of loved it.
