In my teenage years, I developed an aversion to navy. (I think this was a symptom borne out of years in catholic school, a prefab wardrobe of white and navy, plaid, and black loafers -- shined.)
So to me, navy always felt not like a junior version of black. But, I've come around to it. Especially with black. I like that it defies expectations in a really subtle way. This ZNU lacy number was the first navy thing I added to my wardrobe in a long time, but I quickly added in a thrifted navy tee and purse, too. I think next I'll try high-waist black pants, navy tee, and red lips. (This is also known as I am turning into my mother.)
I'm a big fan of navy, lace, your hair,.. you. :)
