we're home now / simple geography

mom jeans: thrifted (similar)    bag: baggu via lisa says gah     tee: c/o triple thread co.

out back, there's a green house. when the milky door swings open, the plants that live inside are suddenly visible, green, alive, and ready for searching hands to prune, pluck, play.

we're all, in this way, like the thirsty plants of the greenhouse. hungry for home. and sometimes it's a job, or a friendship -- some slice of life that stifles us or begs us to change our nature, to grow awkwardly, wrongly, into something we are not. to sprout dissimilar limbs, to crawl rather than climb. to be, but not to be.

and sometimes, it's simple geography.

i have a lot to share about home -- and more still to do. but for now, let me say, simply: it is good to be here.

  1. No way, a greenhouse!! That is a perfect addition to any home in my own standards!:)
I am so happy for you, darlings, for your new home and brand new nesting period! We're recently moved too, and I am enjoying every single moment or decorating our new nest and experiencing new emotions. Cheers to moving!

    1. baha! i wish it was our own. we're staying with family for the next month while we house-hunt here in washington, so the greenhouse out back is not ours. BUT. definitely putting it on our to-do nesting list for the future. i'm glad you're having such a good time with nesting in your own space!

  2. Dear Bridget-

I am so glad to read that you are home; it is such a sacred place. I eagerly await the lovely essays to come.

  3. I'm glad that you're back home, where you love. Home is the best place to be.
