happy new year!

Happy new year, my cherubs! We finally got Internet in ye olde seaside bungalow, so let regular blogging commence! It's coincided funnily with the new year, no? I'll take it. We've got many a thing to catch up on -- essays, Paris, Washington things, this ol' house, books, and baubles, and IVF/adoption-beginnings, and a thousand other things, phew, grab a coffee and we'll soon settle in.

(Run-on sentences not excluded because, in fact, my brain is either fully Camptown Races or terse and fragmentary, but absolutely nothing in between, and what fun is writing if it's all the right words but the wrong shape?)

*Robbie started wearing glasses.
*When we went to Paris in the spring.
*Moving back to Washington.
*Visiting the Oregon coast & Robbie's face lighting up at the majesty of Haystack Rock, and the pancakes we ate, and when he brushed the sand off my feet in the back of the car.
*Honestly, Netflix.
*Massively reducing my belongings.
*Eating a freaking ton of veggie burgers & seitan buffalo wings at City O' City in Denver.
*Finding a fixer-upper & fixing her up.

2016, I'm expecting a lot of you, maybe more than I've expected of other years, and I know it's not your fault, and that's a little unfair, but I think you can do it. I believe in us.

  1. I adore you so much. You are one of the loveliest people I have ever stumbled upon and forever grateful for this lovely blog world for introducing me to such a beautiful writer. I can't wait to read about all the things. Happy New Year!

  2. I love this Bridget! I've missed your writing and look forward to following along on your adventures this year!

    1. Thank you, Hannah! And thanks for bearing with me amidst my hiatus. ; )

  3. This is such a lovely post! I am excited to read your upcoming posts. Happy 2016!

  4. Happy New Year! What beautiful photos! And Paris in the spring sounds absolutely amazing. Was all about the Netflix this past year as well and awesome that you have been reducing your belongings! I am currently in the process of doing the same thing myself!

  5. I am a little late but I wish you the best for 2016, and I won't say I hope all your wishes come true (because it feels like it wouldn't work to ask for all of it) but I truly hope that your dearest wishes come true, because you're a wonderful person and you deserve it !
